Theme & Atmosphere
Red canyon walls rise up on both sides of the grid in Buffalo: The Wild Power, and you can see dry grassland with golden light coming through the background. The reels themselves are set inside a timber frame, and there’s a western soundtrack with a banjo playing while you spin. Premium symbols are all North American wildlife – the Bear, Wolf, Moose, Cougar, Lynx, Eagle – and Card Royals from A to 9 are the lower-paying icons.
Feature Overview
There are a pair of Respin features in Buffalo: The Wild Power, and the way they work is that each one is connected to its own type of Scatter. First is Wild Power, which fires when 3 Green Buffalo Scatters appear on reels 2, 3, and 4. It gives a Respin where 1 to 5 columns become fully Wild.
Then there’s Buffalo Power, where Blue Scatters on reels 1 and 5 give you a Respin with 2 to 20 Wilds placed randomly across the board. If both of them fire on the same spin, you also get a 500x payout.
Technical Specs & Mechanics
The game uses a 5-reel, 4-row grid with 40 paylines, and wins pay left to right across those lines. The Buffalo Wild substitutes for all paying symbols and is the most valuable symbol in the game. One thing to note is that the Wilds from each Respin feature only last for that particular Respin – they don’t carry over between the two if both features fire at once.
Bet & Paytable Analysis
Bets can be anywhere from 0.40 to 20 per spin, so the range is pretty wide. The Buffalo Wild is worth 50x per line for 5 of a kind, and then the Bear is next at 25x for a 5-symbol win. The Wolf returns 12.5x, the Moose is at 7.5x, the Cougar 5x, the Lynx 3.5x, and the Eagle 3.13x for 5. Below those, the Card Royals go from 2.5x for the A and K all the way down to 1x for the 10 and 9.
