Three hands for the player, one for the dealer, and individual bets on each. Pontoon, Winning 5 Card, and Sweet 16 side bets pay extra.
Theme & Atmosphere
Pontoon 21 is a smooth table with three boxes for bets, each with space for an additional side bet. On the other side is the dealer’s spot, with the felt inscribed with the different payouts you can land. There are no animations for players or dealers, just the movement of the cards as they enter and get flipped. The sound effects are best described as relaxed lounge music. A simple and enjoyable aesthetic for those who prefer not to go with live dealers instead.
Feature Overview
Blackjack? Doesn’t it say Pontoon in the title? It’s Blackjack but the blackjack of Ace and Ten is called Pontoon Blackjack instead. Confused? Isn’t it always Ace and any Ten? Yes, it is. Besides this odd naming issue, Pontoon 21 also considers all 5 card hands that do not go bust as winning hands. You may also place a side bet called Sweet 16 as long as you are playing the hand; only the first two cards count for this feature.
Technical Specifications & Mechanics
Blackjack is a simple enough game. Get your two cards, and keep hitting until you’re close enough to 21 or go bust. Then, hope that the dealer doesn’t beat your hand. Besides asking for more cards, you can go double on any hand and split pairs. Play one, two, or three hands simultaneously. Splits can count as Pontoon, and the dealer shows no cards face up. Bets for your hands start at 1 and can go as high as 500.
Bet & Paytable Analysis
Pontoon Blackjack pays 2 to 1, and so does a winning 5 card hand. Any normal point hand that manages to beat the dealer pays 1 to 1. You’re now ready to play blackjack, although you might want to brush up on perfect play. Sweet 16 is a bit more complicated, but requires no action besides placing the bet:
